Resilience is one of the most important skills in life.
We all face difficulties, challenges and setbacks, but resilience is what determines whether we fight through it and grow, or let those hurdles defeat us.
The great thing is, we all have the ability to access the inherent mental strength that exists inside all of us.
“Wherever you are in your journey, I hope you, too, will keep encountering challenges. It is a blessing to be able to survive them, to be able to keep putting one foot in front of the other – to be in a position to make the climb up life’s mountain, knowing that the summit still lies ahead.”
“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.”
“I really think a champion is defined not by their wins but by how they recover after they fall”.
“I’ve learned that if you face trials head on, you can find more strength. Don’t run away from what looks like a challenge. It may be an important part of your path. You have to be persistent and follow what you believe.”
“Although you may not always be able to avoid difficult situations, you can modify the extent to which you can suffer by how you choose to respond to the situation.”
Dalai Lama, The Art of Happiness
“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’”
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. I know fear is an obstacle for some people, but it is an illusion to me . Failure always made me try harder next time”
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might has well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.”
“Failures are life’s way of nudging you and letting you know you are off course. Trying new things and not being afraid to fail along the way are more important than what you learn in school.”
“Everyone experiences tough times, it is a measure of your determination and dedication, how you deal with them and how you can come through them.”
“I knew that if I failed I wouldn’t regret that, but I knew the one thing I might regret is not trying.”
“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”
